Every day

Daily habit tracker

Daily tracking lives or dies on one question: did today's check-in land on today? RitualSprout answers that with your own timezone, a one-tap check-in and a reminder that stays quiet once you are done.

  • Local day boundary
  • One tap to check in
  • Optional email reminder

The daily check-in

Today's list only contains habits scheduled for today, so an empty list means a real rest day rather than a backlog.

  • Tap a habit to check it in, and tap again to undo a mistake.
  • The list shows each habit's current streak beside it, so the cost of a skip is visible before you decide.
  • A ring at the top of the page shows the completed fraction of today.
  • Every change is saved to your account straight away, with a clear saving, saved or device-copy state in the header.

Streaks that do not punish the present

Most trackers break a streak at midnight of the day you are still living in. This one does not.

Today stays open

An unchecked habit today does not end yesterday's streak. The count picks up from the last completed scheduled day.

Unscheduled days are skipped

Days a habit is not scheduled for are stepped over rather than treated as a miss.

Your record is kept

The longest streak you have ever reached stays on the habit even after a miss resets the current one.

One gentle reminder, at your time

The reminder is opt-in, sent by email, and deliberately hard to turn into nagging.

  • Choose the local time and the email address it goes to.
  • It is only sent while at least one habit scheduled for today is still open — finish early and nothing arrives.
  • At most one reminder per local day, with a small number of retries if delivery fails.
  • Settings shows the date of the last reminder and the reason if the last attempt failed.
  • A late time such as 23:50 is delivered on the last check before midnight instead of being skipped.

An optional twenty-one day challenge

If a target helps, joining the challenge counts any day where at least one scheduled habit was completed.

  • Twenty-one days, counted over the days that have just passed.
  • Missing a day does not reset the count back to zero.
  • Joining and leaving are one tap, and neither is shared with your circles.

What this page does not promise

Useful search results start with an accurate promise, so the current limits are on the page rather than discovered after signing in.

  • One check-in per habit per day. There are no counts, durations or partial completions.
  • Reminders are email only. There are no push notifications, SMS or home-screen widgets.
  • Schedules are daily or Monday to Friday, so a habit cannot be set to specific dates.
  • RitualSprout is a habit record and reflection tool, not medical, mental-health, or behavioural advice.
  • It does not guarantee an outcome, and a streak is only a record of the check-ins entered by the user.
  • Private notes stay private; accountability circles are invite-only and expose bounded aggregate progress.

Questions about daily habit tracker

Does a missed day break my streak?

A missed scheduled day ends the current streak, but your longest streak is kept, and an unfinished day still in progress never breaks it.

When does a day start and end?

At midnight in the timezone saved on your profile, so an 11pm check-in belongs to that day and a 1am one belongs to the next.

Will I get a reminder after I have finished?

No. The reminder is only sent when a habit scheduled for today is still incomplete at your chosen time.

Can I check in for a day I missed?

Not in the workspace — today's list only accepts today. The free template on the template page lets you fill in a past week by hand.
