What goes on the page
Paper size

Filled in carries your habit names and ticks for this month.

These rows are the same ones as the weekly habit tracker template, so a tick here shows up there too.

What is on the monthly sheet

The layout most paper habit trackers use: habits down the side, days across the top, and a total at the end of each row.

The right number of days

February has 28 columns, or 29 in a leap year. April, June, September and November have 30, and the rest have 31.

Real weekdays

Every column carries its weekday initial and date, and Saturdays and Sundays are shaded so they can be told apart on paper.

A total per habit

The last column counts the days you kept each habit out of the days in that month, for example 18/30.

Fill it in, print it, or download the PDF

The same grid works on screen and on paper, so you can switch between them during the month.

  • On screen, every tick saves to this browser straight away. Move to the previous or next month to plan ahead or catch up.
  • Print this month gives a landscape sheet with the month and dates filled in. If your browser asks, choose landscape.
  • Download PDF makes a one-page landscape file in US Letter or A4, filled in with your habits and ticks or blank with empty rows.
  • A blank PDF keeps the chosen month's dates and weekdays, so a sheet printed for next month is ready to pin up.

One set of habits, two views

The monthly tracker and the weekly template are two views of the same rows in this browser.

Shared rows

Rename a habit here and the weekly grid shows the new name. A tick on the 12th shows up in that week too.

Up to eight habits

Both views hold up to eight rows. Add your own, or pick from the habit tracker ideas page.

Ready for a workspace

When you sign in to an empty workspace, RitualSprout offers to bring the named habits and their ticks across.

What RitualSprout does not do

The current limits, so you know them before you sign in rather than after.

  • The tracker is stored in this browser only. Clearing site data, switching device or using private browsing starts a fresh grid.
  • One tick per habit per day. There are no counts, durations or partial completions.
  • The PDF uses a standard font, so emoji and non-Latin letters in habit names are left out of it. Printing keeps them.
  • RitualSprout is a habit record and reflection tool, not medical, mental-health, or behavioural advice.
  • It does not guarantee an outcome, and a streak is only a record of the check-ins entered by the user.
  • Habit names and history stay private; accountability circles are invite-only and only see today's completed and scheduled counts.

Questions about the monthly habit tracker

Is the monthly habit tracker printable?

Yes. Print this month prints the grid on one landscape page with the month's dates, and Download PDF gives the same sheet as a file in US Letter or A4.

Does the template handle February and leap years?

Yes. The grid is built from the calendar, so February has 29 columns in leap years such as 2028 and 28 otherwise. Years like 2100 that are divisible by 100 but not 400 are not leap years, and the grid follows that rule.

Can I get a blank monthly habit tracker?

Yes. Choose Blank before downloading the PDF. You get the month's dates and weekdays with empty rows to write your habits in by hand.

Can I use it as a bullet journal habit tracker?

Yes. A month grid is the usual bullet journal habit tracker layout. Print a blank month and stick it in, or copy the layout into your journal.

Where are my ticks stored?

In this browser's local storage on this device. They are never sent to RitualSprout unless you sign in and choose to bring the habits with you.
